Welcome! My name is Charlotte Hutson Wrenn. My family is filled with Charlottes, and the city, too, is my own. My young years were spent at Eastover Elementary, then at A.G. before I went to St Genevieve of the Pines, an all girls’ school in Asheville. My mama, Charlotte, was born in Charlotte. They lived on The Plaza, and my grandmama lived on Cottage Place in Eastover all my growing up years.
I was called to be an artist. As an old midwife from Alabama said, “If the good Lord wants you to do something, you won’t have no good luck until you do it.”
So here I am, sharing what I love about this life. It is the roundness, as Vincent Van Gogh said, so simply: Life is probably round.
The art I make is not complete until it is shared. The same principle applies to beauty, to the awe I discover everyday, which makes life meaningful, rich, mysterious and full of delicious paradox.
My background includes a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree before working as an ADDY award winning professional photographer in Miami. I helped my children grow up, and now and I love seasoned things, good food, better conversation, and my proud little Italian Greyhound, Beau. I am moved by beauty, which is everywhere.
